The Melinda Gray Ardia Environmental Foundation was founded in April 1996 to continue the work of Melinda Gray Ardia.

Melinda Gray Ardia was a biologist, an environmental activist, and a middle school science teacher in Newark, NY. She died in an automobile accident in January 1996. Melinda’s dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm inspired her family and colleagues to create the Melinda Gray Ardia Environmental Foundation to continue her work.

Eligibility Criteria

The following recipients are eligible to apply:

  • The Melinda Gray Ardia Environmental Foundation is available to everyone regardless of race, gender, religion, national origin, age, handicap, or sexual orientation.
  • Any organization is eligible to apply… schools, non-profits, governmental agencies, and others. The only criterion is that it can only provide funds to an organization, not to an individual. If you are self-employed, you need to find a sponsoring organization.

Funding Information

The Foundation will provide grants to the up to $1500.
